Description
This is the first part of the AORAI trail. It’s a dry ridge hike. Today’s objective is to reach the first hut at an altitude of 1400 metres. From the restaurant, there are four “little hills” to pass; then the path becomes irregular until the COL DE HAMUTA (at 900 m); it then continues for a good hour in a more regular way and the arrival is distinguished by an alley of “Sapin” Caribbean Pines. Along the way, we can see MONT MARAU, DIADÊME, PAPEETE and perhaps even TETIAROA. Break for a snack with a view, then the descent to the car.
